No concrete! Waiting game...

Not sure why we didn't get our concrete poured but we did have the lumber delivered!! It's like a giant puzzle. It been raining so I hope that doesnt keep our concrete from being poured tomorrow or I am going to be one unhappy lady!

The lot was back filled today. So, our yard definitely is starting to look like a yard. The plumbing is finished in the basement and tomorrow the concrete slab will be poured in the basement and the garage. When I went to visit tonight the "driveway" was marked out in stone. It's a long driveway!! My only concern is that the fire hydrant is right next to the driveway. The shower/tub and our garden tub was delivered to the house as well. It is going to be an exciting week!!!

Foundation set and water proofing!

I skipped a day at the house because it rained like crazy yesterday. Mom watched Natalie today so we took a little trip out there this afternoon. First, I have to say how speechless I am at the rate of my neighbors house going up! Last Friday minimal first floor framing going up and today shingles being put on! They dont mess around. So, I am thinking ours will be there same way. I am a little less frustrated now:) So for now-today the foundation is set and the waterproofing has been added to the walls. I could see the pipes for the plumbing in the basement as well. Fun times! So, here are the oh so exciting pictures!

Foundation FINALLY!

So, in true impatient form that I am I've been anxiously awaiting our foundation to be poured. Since I am such an expert at building a house I thought that pouring the foundation and letting it set up over the weekend was such a great idea....of course, I know nothing about building and apparently today was the day.

Our neighbors house was started one week ahead of ours so Im using their house as a guide for mine and I need to stop. On a good note--they started framing next door and the whole house is pretty much framed.

So, the foundation is poured!!! Now a waiting game for whats to come. Here are pictures from Saturday 7/10 with most of the forms up and Monday 7/12 with the foundation poured.

Week one email from Project Manager

Brent, our project manager, sent me this today:
"We have footings! Next week, we will be pouring the foundation, and possibly installing the underground plumbing and/or foundation waterproofing. The following week, we will backfill the foundation, and pour the interior slabs."

July 1st is a good day to...

break ground on a house!!! The weather was absolutely bea-u-tee-ful and perfect. We drove by the house three times! Ok--so I was slightly excited. The first two times there were machines in the way so we couldn't take pictures.

Chris and I had a nice date night tonight too. Our old neighbor came over and watched Natalie (thanks Taylor!) and we went to see Eclipse. It was really good!!! So, here are the pictures. Oh, so exciting I know. The last picture will be the position we will take our progress pictures from.
