Do you know what the pre-drywall meeting means?!

...that we are 30 days from living in our new home!! We met with our project manager yesterday. We walked the house and he pointed out everything we've been watching over the last few weeks. There were a few things he pointed out I didnt know about already. While we were there the framers were there fixing things Brent had noted and wanted fixed. Insulation was put in today, inspection on Monday, and then drywall gets started! Woo hoo! I had a list that I wanted to talk to him about.

Here is my list and what Brent had to say:
1. The edge of the bathtub broken- Answer: no biggie it is covered by drywall. (exactly what we thought)
2. No gas line in laundry- Answer: already taken care of
3. Shingles look like CRAP! They had this white color on them and varied in color. I said something to Brent and Answer: he already noticed, brought the shingle rep to our house, put in a complaint already and he is getting our shingles replaced!!! What a guy.
4. I asked about access for a utility tub in the unfinished portion of the basement. Answer: there is hot/cold water access and a drain so yes-we can put one in down the road.

Other things he pointed out: Our rep who sold us the house is fighting to get more of our back yard excavated and seeded. Our laundry (dryer) and range is not only fit for gas but the electrician has it set up for electric too.

Also, while we were there the masonry workers were there and putting our brick up! I would expect our siding would be put soon as well! For now, here are some closer pictures of the brick. The insulation truck was in the the way for a full front picture.

Update!

So, during our visit tonight it seems as though HVAC, plumber, and electrician are finished! Lots of plugs and overhead lights--makes me happy! The security/home theater wiring will be finished tomorrow. From what I was told inspections tomorrow and then we meet with the project manager on Friday for our pre-drywall meeting! YEHAW!!!

My dad came over last night and we walked the house. We noticed little black marker notes around the house. It seems as though our project manager has been making notes:) Good to know! We did catch that there wasnt a gas line in our laundry room but one phone call later-fixed! I also had a little note that I thought our shingles looked like crap and while we were there last night our cute little workers had returned and the shingles look MUCH nicer today. Totally impressed so far. It is paying off visiting every day.

No new pictures for now. I will post more at the end of the week. I need a vacation by the way! Whew! This apt living is for the birds!

Totally off the subject--
Natalie is such a big girl!! 14 months and she can recognize and complete tasks given to her. For instance, she got my phone for me the other day when it was just laying on the floor no where near her and I asked for it. She knows where her feet, hair, belly, and teeth are. She gets close for her nose (grandma has been working on that one since she was 6 months old). She is walking/running EVERYWHERE and is really independent. She has two front bottom teeth and a back molar and about 8 teeth coming in...ouch!! She eats table food and loves chicken and rice. She is so laid back and easy going. I must have been good to deserve such a sweet child. I am blessed with a wonderful husband and family.

Wow-they work on the weekend! The mechanics are almost finished!

Friday night we saw the majority of the heating and air ducts in. During Saturday's visit we saw our front and back sliding glass door had been installed, the HVAC close to being finished, and plumbing almost done as well! These two walk throughs were our first visits into the house as well! It was really neat to see the rooms roughed out and I can really see it coming along. Here are some pictures of the inside and outside as of Saturday.

Wednesday's update

Not much change. The roof is finished. It sounded like they were finishing up inside.

the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire!

Actually, no it isnt but we have one! Funny thing though--when we pulled up the workers carefully covered their faces from me and my camera. I'll let you figure the rest out. Anyway, my childhood neighbors (Toots and Fritz) were visiting with us and we took them and my mom to the house. They said it was a whole lotta house. Oh yeah! It looks huge next to the neighbors house. There is a house on my property now, something tangible. I can touch it. I am almost giddy I am so excited to finally see the house up.
